The objective of this guide is to direct you how to recover and restore your lost or deleted emails.

Follow the steps given below to repair your damaged or corrupted .pst file.

Step 1: Select .pst File for Recovery

When you run Disk Doctors Outlook Mail Recovery (.pst) Software, an application window will open and presents you the “Locate .pst file” Option, click on “Select .pst file” option on the toolbar to select .pst file.

Step 2: Select .pst File or Locate

As soon as you click on “Select .pst file” option, a window displays to select a .pst file for recovery. Select .pst file that you wish to repair and click on “Open” button.

(The default location for .pst file is %drive%:\Documents & Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook). In case you are not able to find your .pst file then you can instruct the software to find all .pst files from a selected drive.

Step 3: Select Scan Method

Select .pst file that needs to be repaired and click on recover and save button from tool bar.

Immediately, after pressing Recover & Save button a window will be displayed, select the scan type.

Disk Doctors Outlook Mail Recovery (.pst) provides you two types of scan.

• Normal Scan
• Smart Scan

Select Normal scan (default), which performs search for lost/deleted mails and browse for destination path to restore your .pst file and click on OK button.

The application uses advanced scanning technique to locate emails in the selected .pst file and restores them into a new .pst file in the selected destination location.

Now you can import the new .pst file to Microsoft Outlook to access your emails as before.

You can even preview the recovered mails by clicking on emails from the application main window. The software shows the preview of the selected .pst file in the application main window.

NOTE:

• If you don’t find the mail which you’re looking for after normal scan, please perform smart scan on the .pst file.
• Smart scan will rigorously search selected .pst file for lost/deleted emails.
• During this search, if the program finds an attachment whose parent information is missing, then it will be displayed in a new folder by name “Orphaned Attachment.”
